Epcot - Day 4 Part 1! 11/11/2021
Woke a little earlier than my alarm so got up and took my lateral flow first then got myself up and dressed. It’s Donald Day today! He’s my favourite!
So I took that to Epcot instead. Now, Skyliner is much slower I think than walking but definitely a lovely view and very relaxing and I still arrived in Epcot International Gateway at just after park opening.
Went for a photopass with a cast member called Brad on the way into France and he is the first one to be genuinely grumpy and rude. Not impressed.
I asked him how he was today, he shrugged and looked moody. I said “oh no not good?” He said, “well some people are just really rough to work with.”
So I ignored that and just posed. Then he told me to put my hand out for a magic shot, which I did, and I looked at my hand. Then he said, really snarkily “how about looking at the camera this time.”
So I did then I said “talk about rough to work with” and I left lol so if you run into an older guy called Brad in Epcot, maybe avoid him!!
Anyway time for some Food & Wine! I picked up my passport and then got myself a gift card wristlet which I loaded with $100 just for ease of purchase really and off I went. Most booths don’t open until 11am so I started in Greece!
I’m going to try and do a video of my time at the festival rather than just a blog but I had Spanakopita and Griddled Cheese at this booth. Then I got the Mushroom & Truffle Tart at the Rotunda Bistro in America, followed by a Cinnamon Chai which was yum.
I went towards Italy and found another much more lovely photopass photographer who took several nice pics of me and then I went on my way to Germany next where I got some Schinkennudeln. SO cheesy I couldn’t finish it! But I did my best!
Enough food for now so on to the Gran Fiesta Tour in Mexico. If you didn’t know this existed then you are missing a whole host of lovely stuff inside the pyramid in the Mexico pavilion. Shopping, the ride and a beautiful setting for dining, especially if you’re going on a romantic trip. Oh and the tequila bar!
Now it’s time to get real for a second. Skip this paragraph if you don’t want to think about the realities of gross body stuff while on your hols! My stomach decided to have a laugh and I had to find a restroom VERY QUICKLY! I think we all know how this can happen so MAKE SURE you have any kind of medicines you might need and any other stuff!
Right. Back to it! I decided to head over to The Land and ride Living with the Land because it had a low wait time and I’ve never been on it! The posted time was 20 but it was only actually 12. Just after I got in the boat I had the opportunity to try for and got a boarding pass for Remy but I relinquished it right away because the only time I got was 7pm and I will be in the Magic Kingdom then. All the passes had gone then but I’ve ridden it a bunch of times in France so it’s okay!
At this point I made the decision to get Genie+ for the day. Just so I could ride a few of the bigger rides in a shorter time. I got a LL for Spaceship Earth first with a quick stop for a photo in front of it and a bop with the JAMMitors first!
Lightning Lane for Spaceship Earth nice and quick. I love this ride so much. I’ll be sad when they change it.
If you’ve never ridden it before, it’s a nice indoor cool ride that lasts a good while so if it’s hot and you can get on it, do!
Next LL choice was Mission Space. I chose Orange. (For those who don’t know, Mission Space is a simulator ride with two levels of intensity. For those prone to motion sickness or who don’t like to be in confined spaces, the Green side is recommended. I don’t have an issue with these so I went for Orange. Apart of some mega G force pressure, I didn’t find it intense at all! In fact I loved it!
But by the time the ride had finished I was nearly late for my reservation for Garden Grill so I had to hot-foot it over there! I checked in on the app and made haste!
Garden Grill is great! My server was Chris and was again really nice! I posted a video in the group which I hope you saw but if not, it is a (very slowly!) rotating restaurant which serves delicious fresh foods family style while Mickey, Pluto, Chip and Dale come to visit!
What a delicious dinner and lots of fun! I was, once again, VERY full though! I had booked a LL for Soarin’ at 4.25 which was going to be my last one in this park until a bit later as I was heading to Magic Kingdom for a dessert party and had to check in at 5.00 I think (which of course means I would be late) but I went on Living with the Land once more just to let my food go down and kill that little bit of time before the LL.
The wait time said 20 minutes again but absolutely no way was it 20 minutes because the queue was even shorter than last time! I would say less than 10 this time for sure. Rode Living with the Land, then straight onto Soaring - got B1 YAS! That’s the best place to sit! (Also got to spend a little time with my main man Patrick - have a little crush on Patrick Warburton, anyone else?)
By now I was defo running late so off to the monorail! If you’re travelling Epcot to MK don’t forget you have to change trains! This is why they tell you to factor at least an hour for your journeys everywhere!! See part 2 for Dessert Party!
